There may be a lack of soft tissue in various parts of our body due to tissue melting, aging, previous accidents and surgeries, or structural reasons, which can cause a lack of fullness, swelling, or a thin appearance in that area, as in the lips. To provide the desired fullness in these areas, soft tissue transfers, ready-made artificial material injections (Hyaluronic Acid…) or fat tissue injections taken from a suitable part of the body can be performed. These methods may have advantages over each other in different places and situations and may be preferred for that situation. If the procedure is intended to be permanent or if it is planned to be performed on large or large areas, fat injection should be preferred.
Fat injection is the only option, especially for people who do not want foreign objects placed in their bodies and when large volumes of soft tissue filling are required, such as in breast augmentation. Many women avoid having this surgery because silicone breast prostheses are used in breast augmentation. What is important here is how much of the fat to be injected into the body will be permanent. Therefore, if fat injection is to be performed, methods and devices that increase the vitality of fat cells should be used instead of the known classical liposuction method. Permanence can be increased up to two times with these devices. Breast augmentation with fat injection is successfully performed in many countries.
For fat injection, the fat tissue taken by aspiration with 1-2 mm thick cannulas in the hip or abdominal area can be subjected to certain processes in order to obtain purity and increase permanence and to increase the stem cell rate. Fat tissue taken and prepared under sterile conditions is injected into the desired area with the help of very thin cannulas or needle tips.
In the facial area, cheeks can be plumped, cheekbones and chin tip can be enlarged, and lips can be thickened. Additionally, wrinkles, lines and dimples can be corrected.
There are cases where fat injection is preferred in breast augmentation. Fat injection method in patients who reject artificial prostheses such as silicone; It is used successfully in breast enlargement and reduction of breast sagging. Similarly, fat injection can also be used for hip (butt) enlargement and plumping.
Fat injection can be used to correct natural structural depressions in the body, such as depressions caused by accidents or surgeries, or on the sides of the hips, and to fill the inner thigh areas.
In the fat injection process, the parts to be removed and filled with fat can be anesthetized with local anesthesia, or if the procedure is large or if another surgical procedure is to be performed, general anesthesia can be used. It should be known that some of the fat transferred by fat injection will disappear within a few months and on average, 30%-40% of this amount will remain alive. This is the advantage of fat injection over the injection of ready-made fillers, which are 100% destroyed, meaning that fat injection is permanent.
Swelling (edema) and bruising (ecchymosis) may occur in the areas where fat is removed and where fat is injected, which may last for 3-5 days, depending on the size of the procedure.
